Overview
Wise Mind is a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed skills programme designed to help people manage intense emotions, cope with distress, and build healthier relationships. Delivered in a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment, the programme focuses on learning practical skills that can be applied in everyday life
The programme focuses on:
Managing emotions
Coping with distress
Building healthy relationships and communication skills
Increasing self-awareness and mindfulness
Developing practical strategies for everyday wellbeing
Referral Options
GP, Nurse, Health Improvement Practitioner, Health Coach, or any other member of your healthcare team
Programme details:
The programme is delivered online and consists of three modules:
Managing Emotions (6 weeks)
Dealing with Distress (6 weeks)
Getting Along with Others (6 weeks)
Each module runs:
1 session per week
2 hours per session
6 weeks per module
Breaks between modules
Referral Options
Referral is by recommendation from a:
Health Improvement Practitioner
Member of the Therapy or Psychiatry Service within the Wellness Support Team
About the facilitators
Our Wise Mind groups are facilitated by experienced mental health clinicians from the Wellness Support Team, including Therapists and Health Improvement Practitioners with training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Facilitators create a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed learning environment where participants can build practical skills, gain confidence, and work towards meaningful changes in their wellbeing.
