Manage My Health - cyber incident

Manage My Health is a third-party provider that supports the online patient portal used by many healthcare organisations across New Zealand, including our organisation.

Following the cyber-security breach that occurred a few days ago, Manage My Health continues to actively investigate the incident and has engaged specialist cyber-security experts to support their response. Patients identified as being impacted will be contacted directly by Manage My Health with further information and support as soon as possible.

Dedicated resources will also be made available to support patients once this communication has been issued. We are working closely with their team and will continue to do so as the investigation progresses.

Protecting the privacy and security of your health information remains a priority for us. We will provide further updates if any new, relevant information becomes available.

About Us

Tamaki Health has grown from a small stand-alone clinic in the heart of South Auckland, to a network of over 50 clinics nationwide.

The original clinic in Otara founded by Dr Kantilal and Rajna Patel. The clinic is still part of the Tamaki Group operating under the Local Doctors brand

We began as a single South Auckland GP clinic and we haven't forgotten the core value of access to affordable, high quality medical care

Our company began when Dr Kantilal Patel and Ranjna Patel co-founded East Tamaki Healthcare as a single GP clinic in Otara in 1977. Their goal was to improve access to affordable healthcare in South Auckland.

By 2009, the company had grown to nearly 20 clinics including urgent care clinic group White Cross. 

In 2019 the company became Tamaki Healthcare. Tamaki being the Maori word for Auckland, still reflecting our origins. Tamaki now has nearly 50 clinics from Whangarei to Christchurch. We operate primarily under the brands of Local Doctors and White Cross Urgent Care. Tamaki employs nearly 1,000 staff who treat over 4,000 patients per day. We are now the largest independently owned primary healthcare group in New Zealand.

Founders Kantilal and and Ranjna received the Queens honours for their services to healthcare and the community. Both hold Queen Services medals and, in 2017, Ranjna also became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit including for her work in founding Gandhi Nivas. Ghandi Nivas is a charity that helps prevent domestic violence.

Local Doctors – formerly East Tamaki Healthcare ETHC – is a friendly, high-quality network of general practice clinics.
